Boost Your Revenues By Turning People Away ~ Giveaway

boost your revenues by tturning people away

Boost Your Revenues By Turning People Away How to sell more to your ideal client online was authored by Alison Silbert. If you have ever considered selling online this is the book for you. You can save yourself a lot of time and money by following her advice in this book. I found many parts of it to be useful and I don’t sell anything. If  you blog you should probably pick up a copy as well and before you choose a website name. I wish I had before I’d named this site. Definitely not one of my more creative moments.

Alison will teach you how to identify your ideal visitor, what your website needs in order to satisfy your ideal visitor, and how to figure out what parts you need on your website so you can tell your ideal visitor what he wants to know. All of that comes in the first part of the book. I love that she has included different examples on her website to show you things like a poorly laid out website versus a well laid out website.

If you’ve never made a website before you might wonder if it’s better to use a template or get a custom made website. For awhile on my personal blog we were trying to raise funds for my son to get Hyperbaric Oxygen treatments. I had no idea where to look in order to sell ebooks, how to process payments or even where to start. It’s all laid out for you in Chapter 5. I eventually ended up scrapping my efforts because it was so complicated but it seems I made it much harder than it had to be. Oh well, hind sight is 20/20 right?

Boost Your Revenues By Turning People Away is a great place to start if you are thinking about developing any type of website. It doesn’t matter if you have some one build it for you or you do it yourself. Alison’s tips and experience comes from real life clients that have struggled with these same questions and experiences. I love that she talks about both the USA and Canada in most of the chapters. This book will apply to bloggers and business owners alike. Let Alison help you reach your online marketing potential.

Here is a short video on the book.

Chicken Soup for the Mothers Soul ~ Giveaway

Chicken Soup for the Soul

Chicken Soup for the Soul: New Moms: 101 Inspirational Stories of Joy, Love, and Wonder is such a fun book. I’m not a new mom but I do love baby stories. I remember the first hard weeks I went through trying to learn to breastfeed (didn’t happen), trying to figure out her sounds and cues, finally realizing that if I changed her position every 15 minutes she was a happy baby but let her go 16 minutes in the bouncy seat and she was not so happy. I remember the hormones, the joy and the pain. I also remember feeling alone as we prepared to move hundreds of miles away from family and friends with a two month old and postpartum depression setting in. I wish I had this book 8 years ago but I didn’t. I do have it now and it’s just as much fun to read about others stories and to realize that I wasn’t alone even then. That others have experienced similar situations and emotions is still comforting.

This book would be a wonderful gift for any mom new, old, and expecting.

I am excited to be able to offer one of you a copy of the cookbook I used to create this recipe. It’s the Rhodes Bake N Serve Home Baked Family Favorites with frozen dough.

Here is the description of the book from the Rhodes website:

Eat Your Peas for Moms ~ Mothers Day Review

Eat Your Peas for Mothers

Eat Your Peas for Mom is a wonderful tribute to the mother in your life. I love the saying on the front cover “A 3-minute forever book”. It only takes three minutes to read the book but the messages inside of it will brighten your days forever.
Cheryl Karpen started the Eat Your Peas book series when she wanted to let a young friend know how much she was valued and worth. After the book was published she began receiving requests for books for adults and that is when she realized how many people need a reminder of what they are truly worth.

Simple sayings like “Many of my personal dreams have been realized because of how you loved and what I learned from you” will make your mom realize how much you have valued her love and support over the years.
You might wonder why it’s called Eat Your Peas if it’s an inspirational book. Cheryl’s mother always told her to “Eat your peas! They’re good for you!” You need to nourish your heart the same way you nourish your body and this book will help you do that. It’s a reminder of the sacrifices mother’s go through for their children in the hopes that someday they will have a happy and fulfilling life. It’s a reminder that after the long sleepless young child years that you will someday be appreciated for those same years of love and care.

So many little books like this are cheaply made or have stock photography that doesn’t really inspire or uplift. I can’t say that about this one. The front cover makes me smile every time I see it. I never did learn to like peas so it reminds me of the time I hid mine in a clear glass that had milk in it and then wondered how my parents knew. I was so smart I didn’t realize they could see them on the other side of the glass! The illustrations by Sandy Fougner are beautiful in their simplicity. The pages are made of a heavy textured paper that makes you realize that even though there are Nooks and iPads it’s still nice to hold a quality book in your hands. I highly recommend this book for anyone searching for the perfect way to show your mom how much you appreciate her.

Save Magic City ~ Book Review and Giveawayds

UPDATE: I forgot to include the giveaway links (it’s been a busy stressful medical week) so to enter the giveaway please leave a comment telling me why you’d like to win. Ends 4/29 at 11:59 p.m. EST. Thanks for understanding.

Save Magic City

Save Magic City is written by author Rocsanne Shield. The story tells the tale of Edmund who was banished from the 13th century into 2007 America. Leona is a woman who adopted Leo her little lion. Together they find Edmund a very troubled wizard. Edmund is an answer to Leona’s prayers to save her town. The town’s only major employer has left the city due to globalization and capitalism. It shows what happens after the corporation decides profit is more important that it’s employee’s.

Save Magic City is a story that readers of all ages will enjoy learning about. There are some fun twists and turns in the book like helping with a birth over hundreds of years and space. It was an interesting concept to read that part of the story. There is quite a bit of legal talk or explanation that young kids might have a hard time with. There is also a part where the townspeople turn their city into a corporation of their own and they all own a piece of the city. I’m not sure how feasible that option is but it was kind of fun to think about the implications of it.

I enjoyed reading this book. The characters are easy to follow, the children in the story steal the show and you want to find out what is happening next. My daughter has been trying to steal the book away from me and now that my review is over I will let her. I think she will enjoy learning about different aspects of globalization, life in the 1700′s, magic, and how a bad person can become good at heart.  We will have to discuss some parts together but over all I think she will enjoy it.

Save Magic City is available at Amazon for $18.95
